Quality, Safety and the Environment
Fishers Asphalt recognise that excellence in managing our quality, safety and environmental responsibilities is essential to our business success. We strive to meet these responsibilities through our Integrated Management System which is aligned to the following standards:

- Environmental Management System ISO 14001:2015
- Occupational Health and Safety Management System ISO 45001:2018
These systems contribute to the sustainability of our business by ensuring that we:
- apply sound risk management;
- consistently provide excellent internal and external customer Service;
- comply with our legislative obligations and wider commitments;
- consult and engage with our employees, contractors, suppliers, and tenants;
- build and maintain positive links with our community;
- possess the necessary skills, knowledge and resources;
- make open and transparent decisions based on data, information and knowledge;
- avoid errors, incidents and duplication;
- monitor, measure and record our performance against targets; and
- continuously improve, innovate and apply best practice principles.
Our Quality, Safety and the Environment Policy has been developed and is reviewed in consultation with Fishers Asphalt employees, our community and other stakeholders. Fishers Asphalt provides the leadership and resources to support the development and implementation of this policy.
Partnering and Relationships
Fishers Asphalt is proactive in its management of Partnering and Relationships diversity and for upholding the principles and philosophy of the Partnering and Relationships Policy.
Projects delivered through formal collaborative partnerships with Government Agencies, Councils and/or Community groups (“partnership projects‟), have the potential deliver improved sustainability outcomes. Successful partnerships can also increase project efficiencies by saving time and money, increase knowledge sharing and improve working relationships.
On entering a new partnership relationship, we will strive to:

Community/Stakeholder Engagement
Fishers Asphalt acknowledges that its operations have the potential to affect a wide range of individuals, businesses & organisations, including indigenous peoples, interest groups and neighbours. This policy provides the framework in which Fishers Asphalt will plan and implement stakeholder engagement. The vision of Fishers Asphalt is for stakeholders to have the opportunity to engage in a manner that allows their needs and interests to be consistently, transparently and meaningfully considered in Fishers Asphalt processes and activities.

Sustainability
Fishers Asphalt is committed to the development, implementation, execution and maintenance of its environmental procedures which meet the expectations of the Client, Environmental Authorities and Environmental and Community Groups.
We recognise that impacts on the environment in the road construction industry relates not only to the process of construction but also to the design and subsequent use of asphalt being laid. Fishers Asphalt affirms its commitment to applying sustainable development principles to all facets of the asphalt laying process and in minimizing the impact on, and pollution of, the environment during the construction process.
Fishers Asphalt’s objectives are to;
- Identify and manage risks for work activities to minimize impacts on the environment;
- Ensure environmental awareness and encourage respect for the environment by all staff, subcontractors and suppliers;
- Investigate potential opportunities with regards to the utilisation of recycled materials including reclaimed asphalt and the possible use of recycled glass;
- Support sustainability by our commitment to using recycled paper products in all administrative areas; and
- Actively recycling all appropriate waste products in all areas of the business – e.g. paper, cardboard, ink cartridges, cans, bottles etc.
